Meanwhile, at home, the step-sister is fairly bored, and most of all quite unwilling to do any work herself, she only waits for her sister to come back and do all the household chores in her stead.

And indeed, there she comes - climbing out of the fountain, all covered in gold, carrying her gold in the basket and carrying a golden mandrel.

Her step-father cannot believe his eyes. That girl ... with all that gold! It sure must be for him to just take it away from her.

But aargh! He cannot touch it, it HURTS, it is HOT to his touch!

"That's because she actually brought it all for me!" shouts the step-sister. Alas! The gold is not for her, either.

Now father and daughter make plans. Somehow it must be possible for them to also get their amount of gold! That'd pay for the dress ... and the daughter would be much more welcome in the world of the rich and the beautiful!

The father has a BRILLIANT idea: his daughter will also just jump into the fountain, land on those meadows of that Frau Holle, and bring home the gold. Easy as that.

And she'd be not as silly as her step-sister had been - no! Bringing home only ONE little basket full of gold. She'd jump in with MANY baskets in tow. Many. Baskets! Bring me baskets!

"Yay, here, another basket!"

"And now - off you go. Jump!" - "But ... erm ... dadddy --- it looks a bit ... DARK in there..."

"JUMP!"

And she jumps.
