We did not have to leave as early as on the previous mornings since our day tour was not taking us to a place far away (at first), we only went to Selcuk (spells with cedille), and there up to the St. John's Basilica, just above the only visible remains of one of the Ancient 7 World Wonders, the foundations of the Temple of Artemis. Since there is little yet to be seen, we did not stop at those remains, but were shown where they are from the top of the mountain on which there are the ruins of St. John's Basilica.
In its days, this church building must have been huge, and very, very impressive.

Today, it's in ruins, of course, which may even have been hidden underground for a while and been dug up and in part re-constructed, but I don't know.
